Dear Alumni, Family,and Friends,

We are happy to announce a new program, The Yoel Baumfeld Nach Bekiyut Program.

Here are the main details of the program:

Goal: The program will enable you to gain a comprehensive and basic understanding of the majority of Neviim and Ketuvim during their stay at Yeshivat Torat Shraga.

Implementation: This program consists of two complimentary units each lasting for one school year. However, the two units will compliment each other in terms of material learned. Within the span of two years, you will be able to learn all of Neviim Rishonim, and much of Neviim Achronim and Ketuvim.
Schedule: Typically, when people try learning Tanach Bekiyut, they start with Sefer Yehoshua and at most finish Neviim Rishonim. However, in terms of gaining the full scope of Nach, there are certain times where it may be advantageous to learn later sefarim from Neviim Achronim and Ketuvim at earlier points in the schedule, out of their chronological sequence. For example, most people are unaware of how Divrey Ha-Yamim compliments the sefarim of Shmuel and Melachim.

Commentaries: As this is a bekiyut program, the only commentary that is expected to be learned is Rashi.

Supplementary Materials and Classes: Throughout the learning of Neviim Rishonim and the story sections of Ketuvim there will be a weekly hand out sheet with that week's learning schedule along with some questions for thought.
In addition there is a discussion group once a week in order to give the participants a chance to air outstanding questions that they would otherwise not be able to answer on their own. Even people participating via e-mail will be able to e-mail in their questions and download the shiur. The most popular questions will be answered in the weekly discussion group.

Trips: As almost all of Tanach happened in Eretz Yisrael, it is also possible to coordinate the Nach program with the tiyulim. For example, the year that Yehoshua and Shoftim are learnt, there is the possibility to have a trip that goes to some of the main sites. Similarly, the sefarim of Shmuel and Malachim have clear tiyul possibilities.

Join the new and exciting interactive Yoel Baumfeld  Nach Bekiyut program led by Rabbi A. Wittenstein. This program will have a weekly downloadable or e-mailed schedule and worksheet. Send your questions about the weekly material and it may be addressed in the Thursday night shuir on the Nach bekiyout. Your Questions must be received by Wednesday evening.

This year we will learn the Sefarim of Ezra, Nechemia, Daniel, Yona, Chavakook, Esther, Amos, Chagai, Ruth, Yehoshua, Shoftim, and Shmuel I. We will also learn key parts of Mishley, Tehillim, and Yeshaya.
Grab this opportunity to gain clarity, knowledge, and the main ideas expressed in the Tanach!!
