| YTS has assembled the finest young educators in Israel today to enable the Yeshiva to reach its educational goals. Some of their names are synonymous with high standard religious education in the Torah World. They are present in the Beit Medrash, either teaching or learning, but always available to the talmidim, throughout the entire day. The extraordinary opportunity to develop a Rebbe/Talmid relationship comes to the fore in the ongoing “talking in learning” and in the encounters outside the Beit Medrash with these young, dynamic Torah Scholars. An intimate bonding has resulted, one the remains and is strengthened even after the student moves on to his next stage in life. |

Rav Avishai David received his semicha from Yeshiva University. While studying under Torah giants such as Rav Yosef Dov Soloveitchik zt"l and Rav Nissan Alpert zt"l, Rabbi David was privileged to absorb from their vast knowledge, and observe the Masoretic transmission of these Torah luminaries from within. It is Rabbi David's mission and mandate to transmit our illustrious Masoretic heritage to talmidim worldwide.
Prior to his aliyah in August 1994, Rabbi David was Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Bnei Akiva Ohr Chaim and Ulpanat Orot in Toronto and Rav of their community. Other positions held by Rabbi David prior to this include principal of Block Yeshiva High School in St. Louis, Rav of the Roosevelt Congregation in the Bronx, N.Y., and faculty member at the New England Academy of Torah in Providence, Rhode Island. Upon arrival in Israel, Rabbi David was a Ra"m at Yeshivat Hesder Ohr Etzion, and headed the Michlelet Mevasseret Yerushalayim (MMY) seminary for women. Starting Elul 5762, Rabbi David became the Rosh Hayeshiva of Yeshivat Torat Shraga. With the help of the Almighty the yeshiva has grown and flourished under his tutelage. For more than a decade, Rabbi David has served as the Mora D’asra of Beit Midrash Torani Leumi in Beit Shemesh, where he delivers many shiurim, and simultaneously counsels and guides his flock, while serving as a posek for the larger Beit Shemesh community. Rabbi David's talmidim include soldiers serving in the IDF, university and yeshiva students, Beit Shemesh residents and Baalei Batim in Chutz L’aretz, who have all been inspired by his love of Torah, commitment to Eretz Yisrael, and deep sensitivity for Klal Yisrael.
